Nevada County
Narrow Gauge
Historical Model Railroad
An On3 scale model preserving the railroad that connected Nevada City, Grass Valley, and Colfax from 1875 to 1942.
More Than a Model Railroad
Every detail tells a story of Nevada County's railroad era.
Historically Accurate Roster
Every locomotive and piece of rolling stock faithfully reproduces the original N.C.N.G. equipment, from Engine #1 "Grass Valley" to Engine #8 from the Denver & Rio Grande.
"Train Cam TV"
On-board cameras give you an engineer's-eye view of the layout, riding right along with the trains through towns and over bridges.
DCC Digital Control
Modern DCC technology brings precise control of multiple trains simultaneously, with realistic sound and lighting effects.
Living History
The layout recreates the three major towns — Nevada City, Grass Valley, and Colfax — plus scenic points including the famous Bear River Bridge.
